ACCA AI Success Metrics 2026: What to Track Each Week (Simple Scoreboard)

Using an AI tool is only helpful if it improves outcomes. Track a few metrics weekly and you'll know whether you're actually getting closer to a pass, or just "busy studying".

This scoreboard is built around three numbers that predict results:

  1. timed practice volume
  2. accuracy rate (marks earned)
  3. syllabus coverage (gaps)

1) Timed Practice Volume (Minutes Under Exam Timing)

This is your "execution training" metric. If you're not practising under time, you're not training the exam.

Track: total timed minutes per week.

Targets:

  • Applied Skills: 4 to 6 hours/week timed
  • Strategic Professional: 5 to 7 hours/week timed

What counts as "timed"

  • exam-style requirements attempted with a timer
  • past paper sections under time
  • calculation questions completed under time limits

What doesn't count

  • reading notes
  • watching lectures
  • untimed question "thinking"

2) Accuracy Rate (Marks Earned)

This is the metric that tells you what to do next.

Track: marks earned รท total available marks across the week's timed attempts.

Use these bands:

  • Below 50%: focus on knowledge + method steps (reduce difficulty, tighten basics)
  • 50% to 65%: focus on technique (structure, timing, examiner phrasing, marking points)
  • Above 65%: shift to full mocks + weak-topic polishing

Best practice

Track accuracy by:

  • overall weekly accuracy
  • top 3 weak topics (accuracy per topic)

That way you don't get fooled by "one good session".

3) Syllabus Coverage (Gaps Kill Passes)

Coverage prevents surprise topics on exam day.

Track:

  • topics covered this week
  • topics still unknown / avoided
  • confidence per topic (simple: low/medium/high)

Rule

Do not finish a week with "unknown topics" sitting untouched.
If a topic is weak, it still needs at least:

  • a basic summary
  • 1, 2 short questions
  • 1 exam-style requirement attempt (even if messy)

Weekly Template (Copy/Paste)

Use this quick weekly log:

  • Timed minutes: ___
  • Accuracy (earned/available): ___%
  • Mocks attempted: ___
  • Topics covered: ___
  • Unknown topics remaining: ___
  • Top 3 weak topics + next week fix:
    1. ___ โ†’ ___
    2. ___ โ†’ ___
    3. ___ โ†’ ___

Final Takeaway

If your timed minutes are rising, your accuracy is improving, and your unknown topics are shrinking, you're on track.

Those three metrics are the simplest way to prove your AI tool is working: it's not about using AI more, it's about scoring more.
